Partnering with an eClub

I have some thoughts about why your Rotary Club would want to see an eClub in your district.

I was talking with my Rotary Club about an eClub and they said they don’t want more competition. I don’t think of an eClub as competition. I can think of it as collaborative more than competitive, and here’s why. If there was an eClub in the district, and I hope there soon will be in my district, it would be in the best interest of every club in the district to post on that eClub’s Facebook page once a week. Here is our program next please come join us. You can get the people who are members of the eClub to come to visit your Rotary bricks and mortar club. The online eClub may come visit your brick-and-mortar once a month or maybe only come two or three times a year, but if there were 100 or 200 members in the eClub and 4 or 5 visited every week that would be good, you will expand your fellowship opportunities.

It would be the same thing with service projects. If your club is going to go down and build a house in Mexico post on the on the eClub Facebook and say hey, join is on this service project. If your club is planning on doing a fundraiser invite the members of the eClub to participate. Come join us if you’re having a social event invite the people. The E club to come to your social event. Many of the people who are joining eClubs are joining them because they can’t make it to a specific place once a week, but they can come on occasion and you want them to come to your club on occasion. You want them to participate in your service projects on occasion you want them to come to your social events on occasion. That’s how you get to grow your club and that’s one of the reasons why the eClub would be good for every Rotary club.
